Named as burkini-friendly, but never confirmed
Several French campsites circulate on blogs and forums as burkini-friendly. Not one of them has confirmed it to HerWhere in writing. This page exists so that you know that before you book, rather than after.
The names that circulate
Marina Plage, Les Marsouins, Palmira Plage, Les Charmettes, Le Rouret, Odalys Élysée — named in a 2023 article built on reader comments, with no quotation from any of the campsites. <a href="https://muslimtrip.fr/les-meilleures-adresses-de-camping-muslim-friendly-en-france/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Source ↗</a>
Why we do not publish them as accepting
A reader comment is not a rule. Three years have passed, several of these sites have changed hands, and one comment already reports that the Odalys Élysée stopped accepting after being bought by Capfun — a chain whose written rule refuses covering swimwear.
HerWhere only publishes what a venue has itself written. These are on the list to be asked, one by one.
What you can do
Write to the campsite before booking and ask in writing. One sentence is enough: « I wear a covering swimsuit, arms and legs covered, in swim fabric. Is it accepted in your pool? » Send us the answer and we will document it, dated and sourced.

Frequently asked questions
Is Marina Plage burkini-friendly?
It is named in a 2023 list based on reader comments. It has not confirmed anything to HerWhere in writing, so we do not publish it as accepting.
Why not just list them anyway?
Because a wrong yes costs a holiday. HerWhere publishes only what a venue has written itself, quoted and dated.
Know before you travel, not once you are there
Every entry carries the venue’s own published rule or written reply, its exact wording, its source and the date it was checked. You can filter by the cut you actually wear.
