Women-only swimming

Two arrangements let you swim among women in France: time slots reserved by a pool, and hiring a private pool by the hour. HerWhere documents 2 venues of this kind, each with the exact sentence the venue used.

Two very different arrangements

A reserved slot is a public or association pool that sets aside hours for women. It depends on the operator and can change from one season to the next.

Private hire is a private pool rented by the hour, usually at someone's home, through a booking platform. You choose who comes, so the dress question does not arise at all: in a women-only private pool there is no rule to negotiate.

It is the least known and the most reliable option. A private pool is booked like a holiday rental, by the hour, and some listings state for themselves that they are reserved for women and girls.

Why it matters for covering swimwear

In a women-only setting the rule is often simply absent: several venues told us any swimwear is accepted. That makes these the least uncertain places in the whole directory.

What we have documented

This part of the directory is still thin. If you know a pool with women-only slots, tell us.

Frequently asked questions

Are women-only slots legal in France?

They exist in practice, in municipal and association pools, and their organisation is decided locally. HerWhere records what each venue publishes or answers, without taking a position.

How do I find one near me?

Ask your municipal pool directly, and look at private pool hire platforms. HerWhere lists the venues that have confirmed their arrangement in writing.

How do I hire a private women-only pool?

Through an hourly pool rental platform. You book a slot and choose who joins you, so swimming fully covered raises no question at all — the place is private. HerWhere documents the listings that state in writing that they are reserved for women.
